Moderate House Dems Break With Nancy Pelosi Over Wall

A group of centrist Democrats broke with Nancy Pelosi over Trump’s border wall in a game-changing letter that could end the shutdown.
This comes while Mitch McConnell will hold a vote on Trump’s initial proposal for an end to the stalemate in a few days, which was met with lackluster support by Pelosi.
We all know how this has to end and it seems only Nancy Pelosi hasn’t gotten the memo, so hopefully, this letter makes her take action.
Pelosi has refused, even after the government is open, to hold a vote on Trump’s wall – remember when he walked out of the room when she admitted this truth?
And we know why she does not want to hold a vote on the wall – she will probably lose it. So now Pelosi may be forced to hold a vote, from within her own party, and if that happens this may be over and Trump will get his wall because there are enough moderate Dems in Trump districts that may vote for it.
From Politico: A group of centrist House Democrats, eager to end the shutdown and sick of political posturing, is pressing Speaker Nancy Pelosi to counter President Donald Trump’s immigration proposal with her own potential compromise.
The group, led by Rep. Elaine Luria of Virginia, is asking the California Democrat to offer Trump a vote on his border wall sometime in February if he signs a bill reopening the federal government, according to a draft copy of the letter obtained by POLITICO.
“We understand that this shutdown was not caused by the 116th Congress, but it is our job to fix it,” the letter reads, detailing the hit the shutdown has had on federal workers as well as the economy.
Trump has already panned a similar idea proposed by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), one of his top allies in the upper chamber. However, the letter, being circulated among some lawmakers from red or swing districts, illustrates the pressure they are under to end the shutdown.
The letter begins:
Madam Speaker,
We know that you share our value that effective governing should not result in winners and losers, but that our job as legislators is to do the most good for the most people.
Across the country, hundreds of thousands of government workers are living in fear of what will happen if they go another week without a paycheck.
We have heard these stories in our districts and have seen the impact this partial government shutdown is having on our vital federal employees including law enforcement and Coast Guard personnel, contractors, small businesses, and countless others.
Small businesses are unable to secure loans and other much-needed resources, costing them jobs and growth. Without inspectors and full staffing levels at our nation’s most critical agencies, parents have asked us about the safety of the food their children eat and the water they drink.
The government shutdown has already cost our economy $3.2 billion according to S&P Global Ratings, including $200 million a day in delayed wages.
The shutdown is expected to cost an additional $1.2 billion for every week that our federal agencies are not fully operational. We understand that this shutdown was not caused by the 116th Congress, but it is our job to fix it

WATCH: Dem Lawmaker Says Any Criticism of Nancy Pelosi is “Sexist”

A New York Democratic Representative staunchly defended beleaguered House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Thursday, saying any criticism of her leadership “reflects the sexism” that exists in politics today.
Joseph Crowley currently serves as chairman of the Democratic Caucus, making him the fourth highest-ranking Democrat in the House. His vice chair, Linda Sanchez, has said it is time for Pelosi to step down, a stance Crowley dismissed even when MSNBC host Katy Tur pointed out how politically vulnerable Pelosi is.
Rep. Joseph Crowley was speaking with MSNBC’s Katy Tur when he blasted fellow Democrats’ cries for Pelosi to step down from her leadership position, saying they were unknowingly taking part in the “vilification” of the former Speaker of the House.
“Nancy Pelosi is a lightning rod. The Republicans use her pretty effectively to rally support among their voters to get them to vote for Republican lawmakers,” said Tur. “Are you concerned that she will be a liability for 2018 when Democrats could have a real opening to retake both houses of Congress?”
“I have heard that argument used so many times before,” Crowley responded. “I think it really reflects the sexism that still exists in politics today. I think Nancy Pelosi is held to a different standard than others are.”
“The vilification of her, in a very sexist way quite frankly, is what’s led to this discussion,” he added. “Nancy Pelosi is one of the smartest and hardworking members of our caucus, and what we need to be doing right now as a caucus is focusing on the issues that will advance the cause of the American people.

Hillary Clinton is FREAKING OUT About What Judge Pirro Just Said On Live TV

Bill and Hillary Clinton have repeatedly lied to the American people, making them both unfit to return to the White House, Judge Jeanine Pirro said on “Justice” last night.
She pointed out that Bill was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice, only escaping an indictment by accepting a penalty short of criminal conviction.
She added that Hillary has been investigated for everything from the Rose Law Firm to Whitewater to cattle futures to her private email server.
And that’s not even going into the controversies surrounding the Clinton Foundation, Judge Jeanine said.
“So what should we Americans reasonably believe? Nothing that they say,” Judge Jeanine said. “The Clintons repeatedly violate our standard of truthfulness and honesty.”
“So should these people be trusted to run this country? Should Hillary Clinton be trusted to run for president of the United States? Should the Clintons be trusted to go back into the White House?
The answer is positively, absolutely, undeniably, unquestionably no!”
Watch Judge Jeanine’s powerful opening statement above and read a full transcript below.
For the first time in the history of this great nation, the person about to become the Democratic nominee for president of the United States was interrogated by the FBI today as part of an ongoing yearlong federal criminal investigation.

This within days of the target’s husband Bill Clinton meeting privately on board a parked private jet with the attorney general of the United States – who has his wife’s future in her hands and deciding whether that wife should be indicted for engaging in criminal activity.
That Loretta Lynch, the chief law enforcement officer of this country, the head of the United States Department of Justice, the citadel of integrity and impartiality, would violate her own Justice Department rules on ethical conduct, specifically rule 14, would not only talk for 30 minutes in a private, un-memorialized meeting – but for a local reporter, and not then recuse herself from the criminal investigation brings shame on all the great United States.
Attorneys who work tirelessly, ethically doing their jobs without fear or favor, every small town prosecutor in this country, would not only refuse to speak with the spouse of a target, but would refuse to even be in their company – to avoid the appearance of impropriety.
Loretta Lynch tries to sell us a bill of goods and then tries to back out of her unethical conduct by saying this: Did you notice she said she “expects to accept”? Does accepting their recommendation mean she doesn’t have the right to overrule it? No! She didn’t say, “I will recuse myself.” She didn’t say, “I will ask for a special prosecutor.” This is all smoke and mirrors.
What is going on in this country?
We have a president who lies about everything from a peaceful protest that got out of hand in Benghazi to you can keep your health care and your doctor, a secretary of state who lies about everything from that despicable video causing the deaths of an ambassador and three Americans to having her own server for “convenience.”
Folks, these are people for whom there are no consequences. And yet they keep going higher and higher in our government. These are people openly flaunting the system while ordinary Americans are held to a completely different standard.
I have spent over three decades in criminal justice as a prosecutor, judge and elected district attorney. I have investigated arrested, indicted, prosecuted and sentenced criminals for murder, rape, violent felonies and every one of them is entitled to a presumption of innocence.
But is everyone entitled to a presumption of truthfulness? Are these people entitled to a presumption of truthfulness?
The answer is absolutely not!
There is no way Bill Clinton is entitled to a presumption of truthfulness. His talking to the attorney general when he himself might be a target, or at least a witness in the worldwide money laundering operation called the Clinton Foundation parading as a not for profit charity would be bad enough, if we had reason to believe they were telling the truth but with Bill Clinton there can be no presumption of truthfulness. There is serial evidence to the contrary.
Bill Clinton was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice.
He escaped indictment by accepting a penalty short of criminal conviction including an unequivocal admission of lying under oath, by surrendering his law license. As a result he was disbarred.
Hillary Clinton has been investigated for everything from the rose law firm to Whitewater to cattle futures.
So what should we Americans reasonably believe? Nothing that they say. The Clintons repeatedly violate our standard of truthfulness and honesty.
So should these people be trusted to run this country? Should Hillary Clinton be trusted to run for president of the United States? Should the Clintons be trusted to go back into the White House? The answer is positively, absolutely, undeniably, unquestionably no.
